3/30/2009

DALLAS, March 30, 2009 – Honeywell (NYSE: HON) today announced that it has added video/digital video recording (DVR), enterprise control, and integration of security with heating, ventilation and air conditioning control capabilities to WEBs-AX™  Security.

DALLAS, March 30, 2009 – Honeywell (NYSE: HON) today announced that it has added video/digital video recording (DVR), enterprise control, and integration of security with heating, ventilation and air conditioning control capabilities to WEBs-AX™  Security.

“WEBs-AX Security is all about flexibility,” says Dave Molin, general manager, Honeywell Building Control System. “With WEBs-AX Security, companies can decide what areas and information to protect.”

Video/DVR Recording

The bi-directional alarm features in the WEBs-AX system allow events from any networked device to trigger cameras to focus on pre-set locations and DVR recording rates to increase. Alarms generated by the DVR cameras can be set to initiate events in the WEBs-AX system, such as turning on lights, sending alarms to an operator console or sending notifications via email. Both live and recorded video may be viewed using the WEB station.

Enterprise-Level Integration

Multiple access control systems can be easily managed from a single location. Honeywell WEBs-AX Security Enterprise provides seamless integration of access control at the enterprise level. “This single tool can deliver management ease, labor savings and even energy savings,” says Honeywell’s Molin.

Handling multiple sites from one location saves training and labor costs and increases management control, added Molin. Because WEBs-AX Security is Web-based, users can manage the system and diagnose problems from wherever they have Internet access.

Using WEBs-AX Security enterprise gives facility managers and operators management control without duplication or system overlays and components. This saves time because systems can be programmed once rather than programming each separately. Additionally, it promotes energy savings because the integrated management permits tighter control of all systems, such as HVAC and lighting.

Compact solution that helps reduce energy costs

When used with other WEBs-AX products, WEBs-AX Security goes beyond its security functions to help facility owners and managers save energy. Through integration with HVAC, lighting and energy management functions, WEBs-AX Security helps further reduce energy costs with occupancy monitoring.

WEBs-AX

WEBs-AX offers multi-feature control at low entry cost. It also integrates with products that use open protocols. This means building owners and managers can capture their investment in their existing control systems and use integrated control that easily grows with their enterprise.
